The United Nations' Cultural Agency UNESCO’s committee on the management of social transformations convened on Tuesday 17/11/2015 with its new line-up in Paris.

Thirty-five member states of the body attended the meeting in which Malaysia was chosen to head the committee.

Egypt's Ambassador to UNESCO Mohamed Sameh Amr said, Egypt was chosen as the deputy chairman of the committee to represent the Arab world in the UNESCO.

"Egypt was chosen for this post due to its active role inside the world body," Amr, also the chairman of the Executive Board of UNESCO, said.

The committee works with governments, social and human science communities and civil societies to improve connections between knowledge and action, connections that are one key to positive social change.
